Willie is thoughtful, loyal, and prefers meaningful connections over instant friendships. He does best with a single person or a couple who enjoys earning a dog’s trust and watching that bond grow. Once Willie feels safe, he’s incredibly devoted.
He loves going for walks, does beautifully on a leash, and genuinely enjoys car rides. At home, he’s content just being near you—lounging, accepting pets, softly snoring, or quietly chewing a bone while you read or relax. He’s not destructive, doesn’t need a crate, and settles well in his own space. He’s generally quiet, but will let you know if something feels out of place in his home.
Willie would do best in a home without kids, where his need for personal space is respected. He does well with other dogs, is fine with cats, and is gentle about building trust with new people. He has no food, treat, or toy guarding, and responds best to calm, consistent guidance.

We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
