Meet Ariat

Ariat’s story is one of survival, strength, and resilience. This approximately 5-year-old mixed-breed girl has been through far more than any dog should, yet she remains gentle, loving, and trusting.

Ariat was surrendered to a Georgia shelter along with her four puppies as part of a severe neglect case. The individuals involved were charged with cruelty to both children and animals, and the dogs were living in extremely poor conditions. Shelter staff were told this was Ariat’s fourth litter of puppies.

Despite years of hardship, Ariat never lost her sweet nature. Now spayed and heartworm negative, Ariat will never have to endure another pregnancy. She can finally focus on being cared for instead of caring for others.

Since arriving in Wisconsin, she has shown herself to be calm, affectionate, and easygoing. She enjoys human companionship and has a nurturing, gentle soul.

Ariat does well with kids, cats, and other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. She currently weighs about 42 pounds and is the perfect medium-sized companion. She would thrive in a home where she can feel safe, loved, and truly part of a family.

Ariat is now ready for her forever home.
