My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poppy!

Poppy who is ready to retire from motherhood and step into a life of peace, routine, and well-earned relaxation. She's already raised at least one litter and is now looking for a home where she gets to be the priority. All of her kittens have been adopted.

She's gentle, observant coat who prefers to take her time warming up. Once she feels safe, her soft personality really shines. She's not a fan of chaos and would do best in a calm household with older, respectful kids who understand giving her space when she asks for it.

Poppy is looking for a patient adopter who will let her settle in at her own pace. a quieter home where she can enjoy sunny windows, cozy naps, and a predictable routine would be her dream come true. If you're searching for a graceful, soulful cat who's ready to leave the kitten days behind and simply be, she may be the perfect match!

Poppy will be spayed before adoption, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy. All she needs now is her forever home! Poppy does well with dogs in the foster home but keeps her distance. With the right introductions, she could settle nicely into a home with friendly pets—or she’d be equally content soaking up all the love as your one-and-only.

Location & Transport

Poppy is currently in Houston, Texas, but can be transported to the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, Colorado, or cities along the route.

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES:
Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to be spayed/neutered, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts!

More about this rescue

ROSES (Reducing Overpopulation: Spay/Neuter Education & Support) exists to conduct outreach, community education, fundraising, and service navigation to encourage spay/neuter for dogs and cats in overpopulated communities.

"ROSES Rescues" is an offshoot of this mission that helps the strays, rescue transfers, and owner surrenders that our volunteers and partners encounter and need help matching with forever homes.
