If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Axel came to my husband as a puppy. He was purchased from a neighbor as a companion for my husband who had just returned from deployment. He grew up in a modest home with a small backyard for him to run. We had a short fence and he never jumped it (he absolutely could have). He has a big yard, now and he has never dug in it, but he was known to dig a hole or two in the small yard (we had another digging dog, at the time). Axel loves snuggles and hanging out with his humans. Car rides and walks make his whole day. He follows commands (place, shake, sit, stay, go home, let's go, wait, up, off). He will bark, if someone is at the door, but he is NOT a guard dog. He once let a repair man in and showed him around the house without me even knowing he was there. He is an incredible dog with lots of love to give.
That said, he is not safe for a family with small children. he nipped a 7-year-old for playing and recently bit my infant in the face for getting into his space. No blood was drawn.
