Ricky
Was brought into the shelter by a good Samaritan, severely underweight with wounds to his leg in May 2025.
Since being in our care, Ricky gone from rags to riches (or at least from scrawny to studly) He's gained some serious pounds, gotten his gentleman's trim (neutered), and kicked those nasty wounds to the curb. Now, this charmer is ready to find his happily ever after in a home that'll worship him (as he deserves) 💕

More about this shelter
The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
