If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Pax is an amazing and loving Labrador/German Shepherd mix. He is neutered, house trained and well behaved. He follows basic commands, loves attention and Pax is very good with (small) children. He doesn't have behavior problems, but he can't run freely because he doesn't like other household pets (like dogs/cats) or loud noises.
He has a strong protective instinct and sometimes reacts instinctively by barking, which makes him an excellent guard dog and a loyal family dog. He has never shown any signs of aggression or bitten someone, he loves people.
He gets very excited when he sees a familiar person and when he realizes he's going for a walk. In the past he has had TPLO Surgery. He doesn't have any pain, but we don't take him on long hikes.
Pax can handle being alone for the length of a normal working day (8 h). He doesn't stay in a crate.
We're both serving in the military and a newly-developed physical disability makes it hard for us to give Pax the attention that he deserves.
