Meet Sid!
Sid is a hilarious, lovable kitten with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. He has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition that affects coordination and muscle control, but not intelligence, happiness, or quality of life. Sid is completely floor-bound and doesn’t have control over his muscles, so he gets around by flopping, scooting, and rolling his way to wherever the fun is. And yes, he does it with style.

Despite moving differently, Sid is an active, playful kitten who loves being with his siblings, chasing toys in his own way, and showing off his signature full-body flops. He doesn’t know he’s different and approaches life with pure joy and confidence.

Because of his CH, Sid will need a few simple accommodations: a low-lipped litter box, flat food and water dishes, and plenty of safe floor space to play and zoom (even if his zoomies look a little unconventional). He does best in a home that understands his needs and is ready to support him as he grows.

Sid is looking for a family who sees ability instead of limitation and is ready to love a kitten who will make them laugh every single day. If you’re ready for a truly special companion, Sid is waiting to flop right into your heart.

More about this shelter

For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has worked to help our communities’ residents be the best humane beings they can be by providing compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia.

Mission
Finding Homes…Opening Hearts….Educating Minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.

Vision
We envision a community where every adoptable, treatable companion animal has a loving home and where every loving home has the opportunity to care for a companion animal.

Values
We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, appearance or treatable conditions.

We are committed to:
* Giving a new chance to companion animals who would otherwise be discarded.
* Strengthening the humane animal bond through education.
* Helping people and their companion animals stay together through the support of programs and services.
* Leading responsibly with compassion.
