My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Matrix - a bright, curious young adult ready for his forever home

Matrix is a sleek, handsome domestic short‑haired cat with a playful spirit and a heart full of affection. As a young adult, he's the perfect blend of youthful energy and growing maturity - active enough to keep you entertained, yet grounded enough to enjoy quiet moments by your side.

He's an observant, inquisitive guy who loves to explore his surroundings, check out new toys, and keep an eye on whatever you're up to. Matrix enjoys human company and is always happy to soak up attention, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a friendly, engaging feline friend.

With his easygoing nature and youthful charm, Matrix is ready to settle into a loving home where he can continue to grow, play, and bond with his people. If you're searching for a lively yet affectionate cat to brighten your days, Matrix might be the perfect match.

Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
