Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Born August 2025, currently weighing 15lbs, we expect her to be a medium sized dog with a stocky body and shorter legs. Nani and her siblings had a very hard start in life. They were born on a rural property largely uncared for until a worried neighbour went to check on them to bring them food. She found that they suffered from significant wounds on their back from the fencing which was badly infected. The neighbour took all the dogs home to care for them and had them spayed / neutered. They are now under the care of the SPCA PV jointly with the foster, and have received all of their vaccines as they prepare for happier lives. She will have some permanent scarring on her back, and lost part of her tail due to the injuries. Nani is looking for a quiet home to slowly expose her to a kinder, gentler world. If you think you might be a fit for this young girl either as her forever home, or a foster refuge along the way, reach out to us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

We screen all applications and in most cases require a home check prior to placement. An approved adoption application must be on file before meetings are set up, as our dogs are in foster homes. We charge a $550 USD adoption fee. We routinely follow up with a visit or at least a phone call after placement. We solicit follow up photos and publish adoptions in our weekly newsletter.

More about this rescue
PVCA Animal Rescue is the sister organization of the SPCA Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. We facilitate the transportation and adoption of rescue dogs into loving forever homes. PVCA is a network of volunteers, transporters, and foster homes. The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption and healthcare efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. SPCA de PV is not supported by the government, corporations, foundations or businesses. The dogs & cats of Mexico are too often found living on the streets after being discarded and/or extremely abused. We devote ourselves to their physical and emotional rehabilitation and invite everyone to come and interact with the animals at our sanctuary. Compassion Knows No Boundaries!
