Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Have no fear! Super Kitty is here! Hi, My name is Super Kitty. They call me that because I almost died! I was in very bad shape when I came to the shelter but I fought back and I`m ready for the next chapter. I may look a little rough when you meet me but with some extra love and attention I`ll be as good as new in no time. I`m not done living yet and I have a family to find. I know they`re out there somewhere.

The GCHS is comprised of an estimated 500 members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, board of directors, and a growing network of foster homes. Due to the commitment of these people, the GCHS has gone from a 62% kill rate in 1999 to a NO-KILL status. Our mission includes:
. Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.
. Realizing the need to educate the general public in areas of animals' care, especially the need for spaying and neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation.
. Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse.
. Devoted to the search for quality homes for every adoptable animal that comes into the shelter.
GCHS is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals we share our lives and world with.
