My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~

Health: She takes daily heart medications for an enlarged heart. ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam *****

Temperament: This senior lady has so much playful energy and a lot of love to give! Foxey is a super sweet little girl who wants nothing more than to be around her people, whether that’s on the couch in your lap or under your office chair, as long as she gets to be close to you. She loves going on walks and is perfect with her house manners- she will dance and spin to tell you she needs to go outside. Since she’s so good about house training she doesn’t need to be crated, and we’ve found that she doesn’t prefer it, but if she’s crated and you show her a leash she is up and ready to go!

Foxey is great with other dogs and cats too, although people are her favorite companions of all. She would be happy with another playful dog friend, as long as they share their treats with her.  She gets very excited to meet new people on walks and loves giving kisses to her friends. Foxey has gotten really good at taking her routine liquid medications with a little soft cat tube treat mixed in. She would probably do best in a home with older children who know how to be gentle with a distinguished senior pom. --

Where did she come from: Surrendered to the Mansfield animal shelter.

 Adoption: ***** $300.00 ***** Weight: 13.0 lbs. Approximate DOB: 2/13/2014

Additional adoption info

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
