Why I need a new home

Human health issues (e.g. allergies, sickness)

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley is almost 9 years old and has been with our family for nearly four years. She came into our lives while we were house- and dog-sitting, when we realized she wasn’t getting the care she deserved. We brought her home, and she’s been a loving, loyal part of our family ever since.

She is incredibly gentle and affectionate, with zero aggression. Oakley is a true “shadow dog” who loves to be close to her people, especially momma. She’s happiest cuddling on the couch, following you from room to room, and giving sweet kisses.

As we prepare to welcome a baby, we’re facing some difficult realities. Oakley stays very close underfoot, creating safety concerns when carrying a newborn. In addition, my disabled father-in-law lives with us full time and is highly allergic to dogs.

Oakley would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can be someone’s constant companion. This decision is not due to behavior issues—only love and responsibility.
