My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Bella is still discovering how wonderful life can be—and it’s been a joy watching her bloom. 💛 She’s a little quirky (in the most endearing way), learning the comforts of being fed twice a day, sleeping on a cozy bed inside a home, and feeling safe.

Right now, Bella sometimes retreats outside because it’s been her comfort zone, but that’s happening less and less as she builds confidence. She’s working on potty training and would likely thrive in a home with a doggy door to help her succeed. She’s trying her best, even if a few accidents happen along the way.

Bella is a dream on a leash and absolutely looks forward to her nightly after-dinner walks—it’s one of her favorite parts of the day. She’s also wonderfully quiet, rarely barks, and doesn’t seem bothered by other dogs at all.

One of her cutest traits? Bella occasionally channels her inner kitty and loves to rub up against your legs like a cat asking for affection. 🐾 She can startle easily at loud barking, which makes sense—those little notches in her ear tips tell a story of a rough past we can only imagine. While we don’t know much about where Bella came from, we do know this: her future is full of love, safety, and second chances.

If you’re looking for a gentle, unique soul who will quietly steal your heart, Bella just might be your girl. 🐶

More about this rescue

The Follow Your Heart Foundation is committed to preventing the unnecessary euthanization and abuse of abandoned and/or abused animals.

In order to fulfill this mission, Follow Your Heart will engage in the following activities:

Foster Program-Animals will be rescued from shelters and placed in temporary foster homes to save them from being euthanized. During this time, animals will be provided with proper nutrition, shelter and analysis to determine appropriate long term housing.

Adoption Services - the organization will work to find each animal that is rescued a forever home that is willing and able to make the long term commitment to a family pet.

Public Education - Abuse, neglect and irresponsible pet ownership leads to thousands of animals being killed each year. One way to combat these issues is through continued public education to not only raise awareness about animal abuse, but also promote responsible pet ownership.

Medical Treatment - Animals rescued will be provided proper medical treatment as needed.
