My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

OMG! Meet Brutus, possibly the sweetest senior to ever grace Pug Nation! This 12-year-old gentleman (though he moves and plays like he’s a bit younger) has had quite the journey, but he’s ready to leave the past behind and step into the lap of luxury...or yours!

Brutus’s story is a little bittersweet. His previous owners were evicted and, sadly, left him behind. Alone and unsure, Brutus’s “singing voice” - a charming little howl - alerted a neighbor that something was wrong. Thanks to that howl, he was rescued and brought to safety, where he’s been thriving ever since. Now he’s looking for a forever home where he will never have to worry about being left behind again.

Brutus is a delight in every sense. He’s active for a senior, enjoying leisurely walks, soaking up the sunshine, and exploring with his curious little nose. He LOVES other dogs and is always happy to make new friends, though he also knows the perfect time to settle in for some serious cuddles. And that howl? It’s his way of saying hello, asking for a treat, or letting you know he wants to hop onto your lap. Fun fact: it’s actually quite musical!

At his core, Brutus is a lovebug. He’s a snuggle enthusiast, a gentle companion, and a master of mellow senior energy - the kind of calm, loyal companionship only a seasoned dog can bring. Seniors like Brutus are truly special: they appreciate every belly rub, every cozy bed, and every moment spent with the humans they love.

Brutus would thrive in a home where someone is around for him most of the day and can offer patient, consistent love. An owner with senior dog experience would be ideal to help him continue to enjoy his golden years to the fullest. He’s ready to be a devoted companion, a little shadow at your feet, and a constant source of joy.

If you’ve been dreaming of a charming, affectionate, and slightly musical little buddy to call your own, Brutus is your guy. He’s got love to give and only wants to make someone’s life a little brighter every day. Interested in giving this sweetie the forever home he deserves? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
