Cicero is an AKC registered Bracco Italiano who came to Sky Sanctuary after being left behind with a trainer. His owner never returned. By the time he arrived in our care, he was overwhelmed with anxiety and emotionally shut down. His body reflected his stress. He was frail and unable to gain weight while living in constant uncertainty.
The moment Cicero entered the sanctuary, something beautiful began to happen.
With safety, routine, and consistency, his nervous system started to settle. His eyes softened. His trust slowly began to return. And little by little, Cicero showed us who he truly is. A goofy, goofy boy who gallops and prances across the yard like a baby deer, full of awkward charm and quiet joy.
Cicero is still learning. He is fearful, but so desperate to trust. He wants connection. He wants to belong. And he is trying every single day. Although he made remarkable progress with us, we knew Cicero deserved even more support to build confidence, learn basic obedience, and fully step into his potential. He is now in a professional board and train program with our wonderful friends at Sofus Dog Training, where he is doing wonderfully.
We are beyond excited to watch Cicero continue to grow into the confident, happy dog he was always meant to be. His story is just beginning, and we cannot wait to see what lies ahead for this incredible boy.
If you are ready to open your heart to a sensitive and truly special young soul who will reward patience with genuine, meaningful connection, please submit an adoption application through our website at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once received, we will happily arrange a meet and greet so you can fall in love with Cicero in person.

More about this rescue
We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
