My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Handsome and Sweet Teddy 🐾

Teddy is being fostered in Markham.

Teddy has recently joined the Just Paws family and is settling beautifully into his foster home. He came to us as an owner surrender due to life changes, through no fault of his own. His previous family loved him very much but could no longer give him the time and attention he truly deserves. Now, Teddy is ready for a fresh start and a forever family to call his own.

Teddy is a handsome Goldendoodle, approximately 35-40 lbs (to be verified at his vet appointment) and 7 months old (born June 12, 2025). He is a happy, friendly, and affectionate puppy who absolutely adores people and other dogs.

Being a young pup, Teddy has lots of energy and will need regular exercise. He enjoys his walks and does very well on leash, but he is not a candidate for off-leash activities. A secure, fenced-in yard is required so he can safely run, play, and burn off his puppy energy. For this reason, condo living is not suitable for Teddy.

Teddy would thrive in a home with another playful dog to keep him company. In his foster home, he lives with two foster siblings and gets along wonderfully with them. He truly enjoys canine companionship.

This smart boy is fully housetrained and even rings a bell when he needs to go outside! His previous owner enrolled him in PetSmart puppy training, where he learned commands such as sit, stand, come, lay down, and wait. Teddy is eager to please and food-motivated—he loves his meals and treats!

Teddy’s foster family absolutely adore him. They report that he has never met a dog or person he doesn’t like—he is genuinely friendly, social, and always thrilled to meet new people. He will make an amazing family dog and is expected to do very well with children.

Teddy is not crate trained and would not do well confined in one. However, this is not a concern as he is not destructive. He happily sleeps through the night cuddled up with his humans.

Teddy is scheduled to see our vet and will be neutered. He will not be available for adoption until after January 20, and while applications are welcome now, they will not be reviewed until after his neuter.

If you believe you can offer Teddy a loving forever home—one where he won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and love—please consider applying for him. Teddy is truly special, and you won’t be disappointed welcoming this joyful boy into your family. 💛🐶

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
