Here's what the humans have to say about me:
A bit about Miss Ma`am - unknown history with kids; all interactions should be supervised - unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions required - select dogs okay pending successful introduction
Meet Miss Ma`am, aka the divine Miss M! A volunteer favourite, this older girl would be a perfect addition to a quiet household looking for a lower energy pup to love. Not is she fully house-trained and trustworthy when left alone, but she also has great leash manners and knows `sit`, `stay`, `lay down` and `come`. Miss M loves to make new friends, but she can be a little timid, so a bit of patience is a must as you get to know each other. Miss M may do well with your resident pets, but she`s not a huge fan of large or high energy dogs; lower key buddies are more her type. Miss M has some mild hip dysplasia that she is on pain medication for, and is also quite overweight; her new family will need to support her with a slow, controlled weight loss plan to ensure she can keep up on all your strolls for many years to come!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
