My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Char is a 5-month-old black standard poodle mix weighing about 23 lbs, and she’s the perfect mix of playful puppy and laid-back lounger. Like any young pup, she’s still working on her house-training and will need a patient adopter committed to helping her learn good routines.

Char does well in her crate overall—she may cry for a few minutes at first, but she settles within about 10 minutes and sleeps through the night. She loves spending her days playing in the yard, going for walks, enjoying her toys, and having fun with kids.

She can be a little shy or timid when meeting new people or situations, but once she feels comfortable, Char’s friendly, outgoing personality shines. She just needs a bit of a confidence boost to help her blossom. She’s playful and sweet, but also enjoys relaxing and lounging around. Char isn’t much of a barker, though she may let out a happy bark or two during playtime.

As a poodle mix, Char will require consistent grooming and daily brushing. She’s still getting used to the grooming process, but she did well with brushing and gentle trimming using shears. The sound of clippers was a bit scary for her, so she’ll need continued positive exposure and patience in that area. With guidance, love, and consistency, Char is going to grow into a wonderful companion.

Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
