My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oscar. what a handsome orange boy he is! He is about 2 years old and friendly with his humans and anyone who will be nice to him. He loves to talk to his people and is happy to be a good listener too. Sharing stories is fun.

Although Oscar is fine with other kitties and would be happy to have a nice friend, it seems that some other cats tend to pick on him. Could just be the little gang kitties in the foster home. But this sweet boy will need a buddy who will be as sweet to him as he is to them. Or he would be fine with a loving family that does not have another cat. He is good with mellow dogs but he is not comfortable around the rowdy ones.

Oscar came to us from the Kenai shelter. He had been taken there by someone who found him. The finder told the shelter staff that Oscar had bitten him. But in all the time, and with all the people around, that we have had Oscar, he has not bitten anyone. He once laid his mouth on an arm when he was suddenly scooped up without warning, but he made no move to put pressure on the arm. As far as we can tell, Oscar is like every cat; if you scare them by grabbing them up without warning, they will make a move to protect themselves. But Oscar has shown zero aggression toward anyone.

Oscar is a gentle, chatty, lovable boy. If you are looking for a handsome little guy to be a true part of the family, he could be the one. He's in Soldotna. Call or text 907 953-0333

Additional adoption info

Clear Creek Cat Rescue rehomes kitties based on 'best fit' approach. We require that adopters sign our adoption contract and a legally binding no-declawing agreement. There is an adoption fee. Most adult cats are $80 except for those who are sponsored or part of a special. Kittens under 8 months are $135. All adults are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens are adopted at 12 weeks of age or older and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Dur to pandemic, we are doing virtual adoptions and slowly transitioning to in person. Our cats are available for adoption from their foster homes located all over southcentral Alaska.

More about this rescue

Clear Creek Cat Rescue is a group of individuals in Alaska dedicated to rescuing cats in need, giving them care, rehabilitation if needed, and finding happy homes for them. We each give what we can to help these cats get through this most unfortunate time in their lives when they have been taken to the pound or are otherwise lost and homeless. Some of us share our homes with these cats while they are waiting for their forever family, some transport them from place to place, some host adoption fairs, take pictures, post ads. Some offer financial help.
In 2020, we rescued and rehomed approximately 650 cats.
