My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pearl was abandoned from a truck in Brooklyn—the vehicle drove away, leaving her with electrical tape wrapped around her neck. I stopped and took her to the vet. She wasn’t microchipped and was estimated to be about one year old. I tried to find her owners in case she had been stolen, but it was clear she had been abandoned.

I’ve had Pearl for a year now. She is an incredibly sweet, smart dog who would never harm a human. She does have some mild resource guarding around food bowls, but otherwise does great with other dogs and goes to the dog park twice a day without issues.

I’ve had dogs my whole life and believed I could manage her energy and separation anxiety, but despite working with trainers, she becomes destructive when left alone. When she is with other dogs, she does completely fine.

Because I can’t provide another dog for her, I need to rehome her with someone who has one or more dogs. Pearl deserves a home where she can thrive with a pack, she is a wonderful companion.
