Finn is struggling in the shelter environment. Being in a kennel is stressful for him, and that stress can affect how he comes across here. Because of that, it’s important to know that the shelter is not a good reflection of who Finn actually is.
Finn previously spent time in a foster home, where he did extremely well. In a home setting, he was calm, well behaved, and easy to live with. He spent time comfortably around adults, seniors, and children, and joined his foster family on all kinds of outings, including riding the subway and even going sledding. He was not reactive to other dogs or animals and handled new situations with ease.
We’re grateful to have this foster experience to help show who Finn really is, because it gives us a clear picture of the dog he will be once he’s back in a loving home again.
If this animal is located at our Manhattan Adoption Center, head in to meet them and see if you are a match! We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.
