Acai Bowl spent the snowy weekend with a volunteer and was an absolute delight. This sweet husky loved playing in the snow almost as much as he loved soaking up attention and affection. He showed himself to be a fun, cuddly, curious boy with lots of joyful, puppy-like energy. He is extremely loving, always giving kisses, and is an amazing snuggle buddy.
Acai Bowl would thrive in an active home where he can run, play, and burn off his enthusiasm. He enjoyed frequent outdoor time and lots of play while in foster. He is still learning the ins and outs of house training, but with a consistent routine and attentive supervision, he’s already showing that he understands where pottying is supposed to happen. Continued structure and patience will help him keep building on that progress.
He does well with crating and slept in his crate at night, as well as during short daytime periods. Like many huskies, he can be vocal and dramatic at times—not because he’s upset, but because he would much rather be involved, snuggling, or collecting snacks. After a few days, he showed that he was beginning to feel more secure and comfortable with the routine.
This smart boy knows sit and paw. He does tend to jump up, which is something his future family can continue to work on with training. On leash, Acai Bowl sometimes pulls and gets distracted, displaying classic puppy behavior.
Acai Bowl met several adults during his foster stay and was friendly with everyone—no barking, just happy enthusiasm. He enjoys chest, head, belly and ear rubs and truly thinks he’s a baby. Rope toys and squeaky toys are his favorites, and he enjoys chew toys when in his crate. He may chew and explore with his teeth if given the chance, another sign of his young age and need for appropriate outlets.
Overall, Acai Bowl is a smart, stubborn sweetheart with big puppy energy and an even bigger personality. He listens (mostly), loves deeply, and will do best with an adopter who understands huskies, enjoys training, and is ready to embrace the joyful chaos that comes with an energetic, affectionate young dog.
Acai Bowl has met other dogs at the shelter, and he is a playful boy who does best with polite friends. He has also interacted nicely with small breed dogs.
