My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petite, adorable, and full of personality, Jewels is a spunky little girl who knows exactly how to steal hearts — especially with her priceless facial expressions. She’s a wonderful mix of chill and adventurous: laid-back and eager to please when it’s time to relax, but always ready to be on the go when there’s fun to be had.

Jewels loves staying warm, snuggling up close, and soaking up all the cuddles she can get. She also enjoys getting out for adventures and brings a sporty, energetic spark to whatever she’s doing. Jewels would love to be your one and only, where she can soak up all the attention and affection. If you’re looking for a compact companion with a big personality, endless charm, and a serious cuddle game, Jewels may be your perfect match.

More about this shelter

More than 95 years of lifesaving efforts invested into our community. SoHumane provides quality care for dogs and cats while working to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem. Annually, SoHumane serves approximately 1,600 companion animals. In 2022 we successfully adopted out 1,275 animals, and saved 427 animals from euthanasia at other shelters through our Saving Train program.

SoHumane is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of companion animals. Mae Richardson founded the Humane Society of Jackson County in 1928 as an all-volunteer organization that initially provided services for displaced dogs and horses.
