Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Matilda spent her first several months living primarily outdoors, then was surrendered to the shelter when she was just seven months old. Since March 2025, Matilda has sat and waited with almost no interest, quietly becoming one of the shelters longest-stay dogs. She appears to be a lab/pit mix, and while her life hasnt been easy, her heart is pure gold.

Despite never really knowing what its like to be loved, Matilda gives love in spades.

She is friendly with everyone she meets, full of personality, and always ready to charm. She poses for pictures (model energy, honestly), and she has this joyful, goofy presence that makes people smile without even trying. Matilda is the kind of dog who brings light into a room just by existing in it.

With other dogs, she plays pretty ruff, so shed love dog friends who match her fun, rowdy play style and arent afraid to wrestle a little.

Right now, Matilda is at risk, and the shelter environment is not where a dog like her is meant to grow up. She deserves to know what it feels like to be wanted, to be someones first choice, to finally have a soft bed, steady meals, and a human who looks at her like shes their whole world.

All she needs is one family to see how good she already is, and how incredible she can be in a real home.

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.
2.
Meet the Pet
We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.
3.
Sign Adoption Contract
Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.
Additional adoption info
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
