My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Giraffe is a cute female Torbie kitten who was brought to the HSOV on September 19, 2025 with her four siblings (Crocodile, Hyena, Lion, and Toucan) and her mother (Safari). Giraffe and her brothers/sisters were tiny 5-week old babies at that time. This little family was found on Second Street in Marietta Ohio, so we were thankful that Safari could raise her kittens in a safe environment instead of near a busy street. Giraffe weighed just 0.9 lbs when she entered our shelter.

Giraffe has a light brown tabby short smooth coat with orange highlights in a torbie pattern, a long ringed tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a splash of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers.

This little playgirl is full of playful kitten energy and loves to romp/play with her brothers and sisters. The kittens were separated from their mother in mid-November after they were fully weaned, and they have been enjoying fun-and-games to their heart's content in one of our larger cages. Sadly their little sister Crocodile did not survive and passed away on November 25th.

Giraffe was given vaccinations and Drontal wormer on October 22nd. She was given booster vaccines on November 6th and November 22th 2025. Giraffe weighed 2.3 lbs on November 22nd.

These photos of Giraffe were taken on January 10, 2026 when HSOV kennel techs Lauryn Hamilton, Madison Lee, and Hannah McClain spent time with Giraffe and her siblings for their glamour pictures. Giraffe was a delight to photograph as she scampered our 'studio' and played with toy balls and catnip pillows.

Giraffe will be spayed (tentatively in February 2026) and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home. Naturally we'd love to see her adopted with one of her siblings.
