Name: Chance
DOB: ~August 23, 2024
Rescued: December 2024
Location: Fostered in Shakespeare
Medical Status:
Neutered • Vaccinated • Microchipped
Grade 4/6 heart murmur — diagnosed aortic stenosis
Background:
Chance was found under a tree in December 2024, likely hoping to find food and kindness. He was much smaller than expected for his age, and further medical work revealed several concerns — the most significant being a high-grade heart murmur. After multiple echocardiograms, specialists determined that his aortic valve appears abnormal, consistent with aortic stenosis.
Medical Care & Ongoing Needs:
•Managed with a very small pill twice daily
•Medication time is his favourite — it always comes with a lickable treat
•Will require ongoing monitoring and follow-up with veterinary specialists
•Due to his heart condition, his lifespan is unknown
Despite this uncertainty, Chance is currently living a happy, comfortable life and thriving in foster care.
Personality & Traits:
•💙 A truly special boy with a big heart
•🐾 Total cuddlebug — loves snuggling with his people and feline friends
•🐱🐶 Excellent with cats and dogs
•🎾 Playful and joyful; enjoys springs and balls
•🐽 Adorable little “pig nose” markings
•😻 Lives each day loving life to the fullest
Ideal Home:
•A compassionate, committed family willing to continue his medical care
•Someone who understands that loving Chance means embracing both the joy and the unknown
•A home with one or more friendly feline companions
Special Notes:
Chance’s future can’t be predicted — but what is certain is the love he gives and the happiness he brings every single day. His forever family will be choosing to love him for the time they have together, supported by veterinary specialists, and to give him the very best chance at a full, happy life.
✨ Chance doesn’t need forever promised — he needs forever love, for however long that may be. ✨
