Meet Rocky!

Rocky is a 2.5-year-old, energetic boxer mix. He is sweet, curious, and wants to be by your side. He is about 50 pounds of fun. He is house-trained and continues to learn his basic commands and leash manners. He is very athletic and would make someone a great running buddy. He would do well with an active family with a large yard where he can run and play. He does require a secure fence at least 6 ft high. He has done well with the cat and seems to be okay with other dogs.

He is UTD on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. He is low HW positive and is currently undergoing treatment, which is included in his adoption fee. His new family will need to return for his follow up visit to retest him and get his second treatment July, as well as continue heartworm preventative after his treatement is complete.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

An application is required to meet foster dogs outside of adoption events.

2.
Interview

Typically there is a phone interview and a vet reference check.

3.
Meet the Pet

We have an in person meet and greet with the pet to ensure it is a good fit for both the dog and the family

4.
Approve Application

Approve the application, pay the fee and take the dog home can occur at the meet and greet if foster and family feel it is a match

Additional adoption info

We look to match the dogs personality, energy, and size to the potential adoptive family lifestyle and dynamics. A family looking for a calm snuggle buddy is not a good match for a working dog that needs to be walked several miles a day to be content and successful in the home.

Go meet their pets

APAC has bi-monthly in person adoption events at the Temple, Texas Petsmart, typically on the first and third Saturday of the month. There is no need to wait for an adoption event, with an approved application we will schedule private meet and greets at a time convenient for the foster home and the potential adopter.

The Association for a Pet Adoption Center (APAC) is a 501(c)3 not-for profit foster home based rescue seeking to alleviate over crowding in our local shelters and help match families with really great dogs. Adoption fees include vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip and heartgard to get started in the new family. We rescue to make a difference in our community, in the lives of homeless pets, and in the lives of families seeking a companion animal.
