Hi! My name is Duke and I am looking for a forever home. I along with numerous other dogs were part of a puppy mill where the original owner passed away. His son did not want to take over and contacted several rescues who came and got us. The rescue who got me contacted BCAA about me and several others to see if they could help and they said yes! I am a chocolate labrador (sorry, no papers so no guarantee!) who is about 5 years old but acts more like a goofy 2 year old as I am so happy to be out and being able to get attention and lots of good food and treats. I am almost at a good weight at around 50lbs and probably will only need to put on a couple of pounds more and my foster mom is giving me some extra food each meal time to help with that. I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and while I haven't been aggressive towards the cats, my foster mom thinks I've shown a little too much interest in them so a home without them might be best. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding, but I would really prefer to be out and about with you and may let you know from time to time not to forget about me if I see or hear you. I've done well on leash with just some pulling when I first get out of my crate or I see something really interesting. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
