My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

History: Amelia is a beautiful girl who needed help from a local impound when she went unclaimed :( She arrived to rescue and immediately brought a smile to our faces with her happy-go-lucky personality and gentle vibes. She is ready to start her search in finding her forever home and hopes to meet you soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet our precious 12-year-old sweetheart, an absolute gem of a senior who is as loving and gentle as they come. She is incredibly sweet, calm, and mellow, and truly just wants to be near her people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who thrives on love and connection, she is your girl.

She is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. Currently, she is crated while we’re at work, though she has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behaviors. We simply keep her separate during the day due to our own dog and wanting everyone to feel comfortable. She may not even need a crate in a different home environment.

She lives with kids and absolutely adores them, showing nothing but patience and affection. She’s also doing wonderfully with our dog and adjusted very well. She gets excited when she sees other dogs and enjoys being near them. We don’t know how she does with cats, as there are none in her foster home.

She enjoys short, leisurely walks and looks forward to them. The walks have also been great for helping her shed a little extra weight. She’s currently on a lighter, vet-recommended diet and doing well. She’s lost 2 pounds since being at our house. At her recent vet visit, her bloodwork came back looking great. She was treated for a double ear infection and is doing well, and she has some mild back and joint discomfort that is being managed with a supplement.

She is a quiet girl who rarely barks, loves her routine, and is very much an early-to-bed, sleep-in kind of lady. More than anything, she just wants to be loved and to share her golden years with someone who will cherish her.
