Meet Cherry!
Cherry is a sweet, gentle pup who thrives on giving and receiving affection. She is happiest when she can be near her people and feels safest when she can keep them within sight. Cherry also loves kisses and doesn’t think there is such a thing as too many.
She can be timid at first, and she startles and gets frightened if handled too suddenly. So, she will thrive best in an adult-only home or one with older children who will understand and respect her need for gentle and expected interactions.
When she feels safe, her personality truly blossoms. Cherry is crate-trained and mostly pee pad trained. She is also incredibly affectionate and generous with kisses. She greets her people enthusiastically after even the shortest time apart. Cherry also enjoys playful bursts of energy, and despite her tiny size, she knows how to put toys to the test. Her mini-Kong toys have become her favorite. After playtime, she likes to take a nap and often chooses her crate as a safe and quiet place to rest.

The dogs we rescue have all been marked as “urgent”, placing them at highest risk should the shelter reach kennel capacity. There is nothing inherently wrong with any of them; most are simply passed over based on scant first impressions or appearance. Some are medical cases that need time and space to recover outside of the stressful shelter environment. Others have a harder time finding families due to specific needs in a new home. All of them, however, have the perfect home somewhere out there waiting for them; they just need a little more time (and a little extra help) to find it. We make sure their story doesn't end at the shelter.
