Dog Test: (Okay with Dogs) Loki has not met dogs to the shelter staff`s knowledge, but is young enough to adapt to being around them.
Cat Test: (Good with Cats) Loki has been around other cats and seems to do well with them.
Kid Test: (Good with Older Kids) Loki would do best with older kids due to still being quite shy.
Energy Level: (Medium) Loki is a 6-month-old little lady with a shy heart and a quiet curiosity about the world. She’s still learning to trust people, but every day she makes small, brave steps forward. With patience, gentle voices, and a calm environment, Loki slowly comes around—watching from a safe distance, then inching closer as her confidence grows. She’ll thrive in a loving home that understands shy kitties and is willing to let her set the pace while she learns that humans can be pretty wonderful.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
