Frankie is a 6-month-old, medium-sized boy (around 40 pounds and still growing) with all the charm and curiosity you’d expect from a young pup. He came to us through an interstate transport, so his past is a bit of a mystery, but what we do know is that he’s been a social, friendly presence here at the shelter. Frankie is just starting to learn his basics like sit and is highly motivated by treats, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience for both dog and adopter.
With his happy, outgoing personality, Frankie may do well in a home with children, and we recommend all family members meet him before adoption to ensure a good fit. He’s shown signs that he could enjoy having another dog as a playmate, especially one that can help show him the ropes. As a young dog, he’s still learning about the world and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to help build confidence and good manners.
Like most puppies his age, Frankie is likely not fully potty trained yet and will need a consistent potty schedule and patient guidance as he learns. With structure, time, and lots of praise, he’s sure to catch on quickly. About the Adoption
Please plan for approximately an hour to complete your adoption. If the shelter is busy, it could take longer. You will be asked to complete a one-page profile and then an Adoption Counselor will meet with you to discuss your pet(s) of interest.
Animals go home at the time of adoption. Adoption Counselors invest time with you to make sure you’re fully informed before you leave and have all the resources you need to introduce your new pet(s) into your home.
After the Adoption
About a week after you adopt, a CAHS Adoption Counselor will follow-up with you to see how things are going and offer assistance should you need it.
Please note, CAHS does not offer refunds on adoption fees. We encourage you to call regarding any difficulties you have. We have many resources available to help make your adoption a successful match.
