Chester is a protector. He is fiercely loyal. He was my grandmother’s dog; she passed late October. He is 100% a companion dog. Once he loves you, you’ll have a loyal foot warmer wherever you sit, and a great bed buddy. He can adapt to cats and other medium to large dogs with a slow introduction. He would love to be in the home of empty-nesters or an able bodied person. Chester is a very good boy when it comes to letting you know he has to potty. He knows basic commands and can be left alone for several hours at a time if needed. He has never been in crate. He can exhibit signs of anxiety to new stimuli.
He can be territorial, so if other animals are present, he needs a dedicated space for himself (a corner or a dog bed, etc.). He does fine on a leash but could use some more practice.
He has eaten homemade or human grade fresh food all his life. He eats less than most dogs his size due
his low energy lifestyle. Chester requires patience, stability, and lots of LOVE.
