My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tulip is a gentle, sensitive girl who finds her confidence through her dog friends. New environments and kennel life can feel overwhelming for her, and she may be shy at first, but once she is outside or alongside another dog, her personality truly blossoms.

Around other dogs, Tulip is a completely different pup. She lights up with loose body language, wagging tails, zoomies, and happy play. She prefers a playful but gentler, chase-and-run style and does best with dog friends who respect her cues and match her energy. Having a canine companion helps Tulip feel safe and confident, and she would thrive in a home with another dog.

Tulip has done well with people once she feels comfortable and has been reported to do well with kids. With patience, reassurance, and the support of a dog buddy, she continues to make progress and show how sweet she really is.

Tulip is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can build confidence at her own pace, ideally with a dog friend by her side to help guide the way.

More about this shelter

Richmond Animal League (RAL) is committed to saving lives by giving hope, help, and loving homes to animals in need. Our vision: All cats and dogs are in a loving home with access to the support they need to thrive.

RAL has been committed to saving the lives of animals and finding loving homes for pets for over 45 years. Since 1979, we’ve worked with area shelters to provide temporary housing, medical treatment, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and loving care to tens of thousands of pets who were then adopted into new homes.
