Bruiser is a sweet one-year old male Chihuahua mix who arrived at HSOV on January 7, 2026 when a Good Samaritan found him on State Route 550 in the Marietta Ohio and brought Bruiser to the safety of our shelter.
Bruiser has a black short smooth coat, rather long legs, a long tail, and an adorable face with classic Chihuahua features including a teeny tiny slender muzzle and large ears which he holds erect when he chooses to do so.
Bruiser weighs 14.2 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash.
These photos were taken on January 12, 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied Bruiser for outdoor pictures. Bruiser loved playtime/attention from Emily, and also enjoyed being carried in Emily's arms when Bruiser was returned to his large floor crate.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bruiser was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Sadly nobody called or came looking for this little fellow.
Bruiser will be neutered before being adopted by his new family (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized).. Bruiser could be fostered while he awaits his neuter procedure so that he could enjoy a real home environment instead of shelter floor crate. Please complete an HSOV foster/adoption application and submit for approval if you would like to offer Bruiser a terrific home.
Update: Bruiser was neutered on January 19, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine.
