Meet Iggy!

Iggy is a big, handsome boy who is extremely strong, energetic, and full of life, with a heart that clearly wants to connect with his people. Iggy is currently decompressing, and even during this transition he has shown that he listens well and truly wants to do what you ask.

At his age, Iggy’s excitement often comes out as full-body wiggles and happy chaos. He can be a bit unsure about being alone and prefers the company of his people, making him a great candidate for continued confidence-building and structure. With guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Iggy has all the makings of a loyal and devoted companion.

Training & Personality

  • Very eager to please

  • High energy and very strong

  • Still learning to manage excitement and impulses

  • Would benefit from basic training and clear boundaries

  • Thrives with routine and engagement

The Perfect Home for Iggy
Iggy will do best with an experienced, confident large or giant-breed owner who understands strength, energy, and the importance of training. Due to his size and tendency to throw his body around when excited, a home without small children is required.

A secure fenced yard would be ideal so Iggy can safely burn off energy. While he may enjoy having a canine companion in the future, he does not require another dog in the home—his main need is a committed human who can provide structure, patience, and leadership.

Iggy is a powerful, loving dog who wants nothing more than to belong. With the right adopter, he has the potential to become an incredible best friend and lifelong companion.

More about this rescue

Just Giant Rescue Inc (JGRI) is a dog rescue catering to giant breed dogs. We don’t discriminate against breed, but they must be giants such as the regal Great Dane, loyal Mastiff, and clownish Saint Bernard, to name a few.

We strive to follow the 3 R’s.
• Rescuing. We rescue from all types of situations, owner surrenders, and from local shelters. We strive to help as many as we can, with what resources we have available.
• Rehabilitating. All dogs are fostered inside loving homes, becoming temporary family members. They are fully vet checked, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and guarded against heartworm, fleas and ticks. They are also given a temperament test prior to being eligible for adoption.
• Re-homing. Each dog is individually matched with the best suited adoptive home for them. Each applicant wanting to adopt must fill out an application and complete a home check prior to being approved.
