My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gizzy 🐱💛
Gizzy is a gentle, loving senior girl with a heart full of warmth. She leans into every pet, purring contentedly, and she absolutely lives for head scratches—she’ll gently nudge your hand to ask for more. She even tolerated being picked up with no issues, happy just to be close to someone who shows her kindness.

Gizzy is also the sister of Nina, and the two share that same soft, affectionate nature. While Gizzy is calm and easygoing, you can tell she finds comfort in having someone near—whether that’s a human friend or her sister by her side. She’s a truly special girl who seems grateful for every bit of love she gets. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion who will fill your home with gentle purrs and quiet affection, Gizzy is ready for her second chance. 💛

Meet Gizzy at 2960 Shafto Road Tinton Falls, 7 days a week from 12pm to 430pm.

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
