My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi FCCR friends, my name is Cali. I’m a beautiful 11-year-old cocker spaniel girl (a gorgeous light brown and white Merle, if I do say so myself!), and I’m ready to find my forever home! I weigh 38 pounds, and yes, I need to lose some weight. I’m looking for humans who can help me with a good diet and exercise regimen so I can feel my best! Think of it as a wellness journey we’ll take together!

I’m good with other dogs, cats, and kids – I’m an equal opportunity lover! I’m housebroken, good on a leash (perfect for those walks we’ll be taking!), and great in the car (I usually just fall asleep on rides – it’s very relaxing!). Now, about that crate – we have an open one available in my foster home, but honestly? I avoid it as much as possible. I’d much rather be near my people!

Now here’s a little about my personality: I’m very laid-back and love a good belly rub session! Sometimes I can be a little chatty (bark) and seemingly for no particular reason…I just have things to say! I LOVE toys, but I’m not gentle with them…I’ll demolish them as fast as I get them, and if there’s a squeaker? I’ll have it out in less than 10 minutes. It’s my special talent! I love when my humans play with me, but when they’re busy, I’m totally fine entertaining myself with a toy.

A little about my health: I suffered from a bad ear infection and had a total ear ablation surgery on one side last year (thanks to everyone who donated to my care) but I can still hear just fine! My ear care is very important — and I’m easy about it — so I can maintain my remaining ear infection free and my hearing.

I always want to be around my people – I’m the kind of girl who just wants to be wherever you are. That’s my happy place! With a more active family who can take me on regular walks and play sessions, I know I’ll thrive and get healthier!

Looking for a devoted, easy-going companion who will love you with her whole heart?

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
