My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joy!
Joy is a sweet 5-year-old Chiweenie weighing just 10.5 pounds. She may be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she truly lives up to her name—Joy loves to be picked up, cuddled, and showered with affection.

Joy gets along well with other dogs and does great once settled in. She should be fed separately at first, but after that initial adjustment, she has no issues. She is fully potty trained and has no trouble going outside to do her business.

Joy would do best in a loving home that understands she may need a short adjustment period before her affectionate personality shines through. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who enjoys being close to her people, Joy could be the perfect addition to your family. 💕

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
