My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Sweetie! I’m an 8-year-old cat who can be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe and comfortable, I’m a total sweetheart. I love having my face gently pet and being brushed—it makes me feel calm, happy, and so loved. I’m the kind of cat who enjoys quiet, gentle attention and snuggling up close with my humans when I’m ready.

I would do best in a calm, patient home where I can take my time to warm up and feel secure. Once I trust you, I’ll reward you with purrs, gentle head bumps, and plenty of loving companionship. I enjoy quiet spaces and a predictable routine, and I thrive when my humans are understanding and kind.

I’m looking for a forever family who will give me patience, love, and gentle care. In return, I’ll give you loyalty, quiet affection, and lots of heart-melting moments. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and gentle companion to share your days with, I’d be so happy to meet you and become part of your family.

More about this shelter

Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is an open-admission, no-kill shelter dedicated to strengthening the relationship between animals and humans through adoptions and education – making a more compassionate community possible.

Our mission is to lead the community in animal welfare and assure sanctuary for animals in need. To that end, we envision a community where all animals are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. We invite the public to join us in our cause to spread humane sentiments throughout our community for the betterment of animals and people alike.

Incorporated in 1965, HAWS has grown along with our community, evolving into a vibrant organization and a lively facility that is the #1 resource for pets and their people.
