Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jennings is a handsome, intelligent, 2-yr old male Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix that is ready to learn and be a lifelong companion. He has a beautiful coat, adorably small ears and eyes that are mesmerizing. He has good recall and eagerly shows that he is ready to learn. Just because his looks are striking, he is not for everyone.
He has high energy which is typical of both breeds. Jennings can be mouthy/jumpy when excited or greeting visitors. He is house trained and close to being crate trained. He delicately takes treats and meds. Though he is leash reactive, he has not shown any aggression.
Jennings has a moderate prey drive and will do best in home that is not busy with visitors, small children under 12 or cats. He will also do best in a house with a fenced yard or rural setting. He will not do well in an apartment, condo, townhouse or busy city environment.
He needs a strong leader that is willing to spend the time refining his qualities and working on new commands. He needs structure and quality outside time with activity. Be it another dog he can bond or with which to play, some job to do, or agility training.
Jennings is a work in progress yet has made incredible strides since arriving in Colorado from Texas. His foster works out of their home, and he loves having someone around all day.
If you feel that you are a strong leader with significant herding breed experience, please complete an application and schedule a meet-n-greet. Jennings is truly an amazing dog for the right individual or family.
