Charlie is an incredibly playful, affectionate, and sweet cat who completely defies the “aloof cat” stereotype. If he had his way, he’d spend every minute cuddling, playing, or zooming around the house with joyful abandon. He’s a total goofball—slightly clumsy, endlessly entertaining, and guaranteed to make you laugh with his awkward antics (walls and furniture are optional obstacles during zoomies).
At bedtime, Charlie’s favorite place is right on your chest. Once he’s fully worn himself out, he’ll stretch out spread-eagle on top of you, purring himself to sleep. He’s also adorably small for a full-grown cat, with cow-like spots and a tiny black “goatee” that makes him extra charming.
Charlie can be shy at first with new people, and may hide for a few hours when someone new arrives—but give him a day and he’ll have a brand-new best friend. He warms up quickly and becomes deeply attached.
He does enjoy scratching furniture so a tall, sturdy cat tree or post is important, but he responds well to redirection. With consistency, this is very manageable and correctable.
Charlie has lived happily with other cats and truly thrives on companionship. The cuddling and playfulness apply to feline friends, too! He would do best in a home with another playful, social cat who enjoys wrestling and snuggling. Very solitary cats may find his enthusiasm overwhelming.
Charlie has not lived with dogs or children before, so a calm, cat-savvy home would likely be the best fit.
Why Charlie Needs a New Home
Charlie needs more companionship and attention than I’m able to give due to frequent work travel and long office hours. While I have someone check in on him when I’m away, he becomes visibly distressed after my trips and takes days to settle again. With an upcoming move and additional complications, it’s become clear that Charlie would be much happier in a home where he has consistent company and daily interaction.
This is a very hard decision, made purely out of love for him. Charlie is an amazing cat, and in the right home, he will absolutely thrive. Charlie lives in Wood Village with this owner - rehoming fee is $50
