My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Major is an older dog with a past that wasn’t kind to him — he was severely abused — but somehow, he came out the other side still full of love. He is gentle, kind, and deeply sweet. Major has a calm presence and a quiet wisdom that only older dogs carry.

When Major wants something, he’ll let you know — softly and politely. If he wants a snack, he’ll give a gentle bark. If he wants to enter a room, he’ll do the same. He’s persistent, but in the most endearing way. At his age, he’s earned the right to speak his mind, and honestly… it’s part of his charm.

Major doesn’t care about the small stuff anymore. He just wants comfort, kindness, and someone who sees him for the loving soul he is.

Major is a calm, loving, and gentle dog who is good with both children and other dogs. He is persistently charming in the most polite way, making him the perfect mellow and affectionate companion for a quiet home.

Major is proof that even after hardship, love can survive. He deserves a peaceful home where he can finally feel safe and cherished.

Major is located in Houston, TX. Transport to most states is available for an additional fee of $300.

More about this rescue

Hi, I am the founder of Waiting Under the Willow Foundation, also known as W.U.W.F. We work hard at trying to find homes for dogs that are homeless or scheduled to be euthanized at Harris County Animal Shelter. There are so many dog out there that are so loving and deserving of a good home. My hopes is that more people will open their hearts and homes to some of these sweet dogs❤️. Rescue dogs make the best pets!!!
