Hi, my name is Nyx 🤍
I’m a Schnauzer–Maltese mix boy, about 1 year old, and I weigh around 5kg (11 lb).
I’m still very young—just beginning to learn what the world is like.
I was rescued from an animal hoarding situation.
More than 80 dogs were crowded into a small space where it was hard to even breathe.
There was no protection, no arms to hold me.
I survived each day by quietly protecting myself.
Anxiety was part of everyday life.
Even food meant competition.
In that place, I didn’t cry, and I didn’t hope—I just endured, silently.
Thankfully, I was rescued and brought to a training center.
The good news is that my body is surprisingly healthy.
But in my heart, traces of that past still remain,
making me a little cautious at first.
When I first arrived, I was shy and unsure.
But with treats and gentle patience,
I slowly began to come closer.
It turns out I missed human touch more than anyone realized.
I really wanted to be held, to feel warmth—
and I show that longing with my whole little heart.
In new environments, I may seem timid at first.
But if you give me just a little time,
I’ll come to you on my own and quietly ask,
“Please love me.”
I’ve never lived alone before,
so I may have some separation anxiety.
That’s why I’m hoping for a home where
someone can be with me often and help me feel safe.
I get along well with other dogs
and know how to interact gently without conflict.
Everything about home life is new to me.
Living inside a house, going on walks,
spending ordinary days with people—
I’m learning all of it, one step at a time.
I’m only one year old.
Still so young,
and only now beginning to discover the world.
I’m looking for a family who will teach me with love,
who won’t scold me for mistakes,
and who will gently say, “It’s okay.”
I’m a dog who deeply longs for human love.
Affectionate, sweet,
and always looking to my person.
I’m waiting—
for a forever family who will hold me in their warm arms
and never let me go 🤍
