My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Léa ✨– A Little Survivor with a Big Heart

Currently located in Puerto Vallarta, MX | Can travel to Canada & USA with a flight angel

Léa was found abandoned near Isla Río Cuale, and from the moment she was rescued, she has shown us just how special she is.

Léa is extremely social, curious, and affectionate. She loves people, enjoys the company of other cats, and is eating well and fully litter trained. She’s still a little unsure about dogs—but with gentle exposure and time, we believe her confidence will continue to grow.

🩺 Medical Note (Suspected Scoliosis):
Léa has a mild spinal curvature, most likely congenital scoliosis, which gives her spine a slightly crooked appearance. An orthopedic surgeon from San Diego reviewed her X-rays and two-seperate local Vets also assessed her---all confirm that young cats who show no signs of pain, lameness, wobbliness, or behavioral changes do not require treatment. At this time, Léa is comfortable and mobile—she walks, plays, jumps, and uses the litter box normally.

Treatment would only be considered if signs such as difficulty walking or jumping, reluctance to play, lethargy, or changes in appetite were to appear. Two separate veterinary consultations feel that as long as her spine remains stable as she matures, Léa is expected to live a normal, happy life.

Léa doesn’t know she’s any different—she just knows she loves affection, exploring her world, and being close to her people. She would thrive in a loving, attentive home that’s cheering her on as she blossoms.

Léa will have our complete Cat protocol :

* Complete Health exam by a Vet

More about this rescue

Two women, one American, and one Mexican met in Sayulita through their mutual concern for the many sick, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in the area.

They began working together informally to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for these animals. Their efforts eventually led to the formation of Wet Noses Rescue, which has grown from a small backyard operation to an expanding nonprofit housed on a property with dedicated facilities in Punta de Mita. Providing the animals with health care, rehabilitation, socialization, and careful evaluation which is needed for a successful adoption to new homes in the United States and Canada.

Wet Noses Rescue also provides Spay/Neuter clinics in the local community to reduce overpopulation and vaccinations to reduce the prevalence of serious diseases such as Parvo and Distemper.
