Denali's perfect person/home would....
✅ Have no other pets or one submissive dog. Denali gets along well with others but tends to assert himself as Alpha. He is not playful but rather happy to coexist with a submissive dog.
✅ Continue his weight gain journey and heartworm treatment. Unfortunately, Denali tested positive for heartworms. He cannot begin treatment until he gains some weight. He came to us at 48lbs this week, and he should be about 70lbs at a healthy weight! Heartworm treatment is fully paid for by ZAR until the dog is negative.
✅ Be an overall calm environment. Denali is estimated to be 5 years old and, now that he's got a glimpse of the good life, he is ready to enjoy it! His favorite activities are cuddling and sleeping.
✅ Be home more often than not. Denali is a velcro dog and wants to be by his person's side all the time. He will follow you around everywhere, plopping down at your feet for belly rubs. He does okay in a kennel but is still figuring it out and definitely prefers to be out of it at this time.
✅ Have a lone-standing home with a fenced backyard. This boy, in typical Husky fashion, has quite a howl and seems to love using his voice! Due to going through heartworm treatment eventually, a yard would better serve this guy so he can get his (minimal) energy out rather than risking it on walks.
