Just a short time ago, they were chasing a trash truck together. A kind lady got them out of the street and took them to Sussex for safety. And now, we are able to welcome them to our shelter so that we can find them each their forever homes! We know for certain that they each need their own home. They survived together on the streets and then they roomed together at Sussex, but it seems once they got some more space and their own runs with us, they realized they preferred to be "next" to each other but not "with" each other. Alex and Marty are four-year-old beagles who are each adorable in their own way. They are just a smidge shy but quickly warm up to people once they realize you want to touch them in a kind way, not a harmful way. Alex is the tricolor/blue tick sweet boy - he is heartworm positive and has already started treatment (which is fully covered by AAS). Marty is the tricolor charming boy and just had ear infections. Alex and Marty seem visibly relieved to be with us but also surprised that people want to love them. They look at us as if to say, wait, you want to be nice to us? And once you start to pet them, they melt right into you. Please come meet Alex and Marty - let's celebrate their smartness of working together to survive and their quest now to just be friends from a distance, never forgetting each needed the other to survive. Come meet Alex & Marty at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton VA. Open every day between 9AM and noon! Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!
PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
