Meet Murphy — The Most Interesting Chihuahua in the World (5 lbs Edition)
Murphy may only weigh five tiny pounds, but his personality is doing the work of at least three full-sized dogs.
He’s wildly charming, deeply expressive, and incredibly intelligent — the kind of dog who watches everything, figures things out fast, and absolutely knows when you have snacks.
Murphy is a ladies’ man He bonds most quickly with women and feels most comfortable in a female-led home. Once you’re his person, you are his person — shadow, snuggle buddy, and center of his universe.
He does best as the king of his castle or with the right canine match, but he is not a fan of male dogs. Murphy has standards, and he’s not afraid to enforce them in his tiny but confident way.
This little legend is still polishing up his potty training skills, so he’ll need a patient home willing to keep him on a schedule and cheer him on. The good news? That big brain of his means he can learn — he just needs consistency.
Murphy’s highlights include:
Professional blanket burrower
Lap warming specialist
Neighborhood watch supervisor
Tiny dog with main-character energy
If you’re looking for a small dog with a huge personality, strong opinions, and elite cuddle talent, Murphy is ready to make your home way more interesting.
Adopt Murphy — because life is better with a little spice, a little sass, and five pounds of unforgettable love.
Disclaimer:
The information in this profile is based on observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We do our best to describe each dog accurately; however, behavior and needs may change in a new home, routine, or environment.
Our dogs are not free-roaming in homes. “Potty trained” indicates reliable crate training, not confirmed free-roam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected.
All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered, and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. While we provide all known medical information, we cannot guarantee future health or the absence of underlying conditions.
