My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Trilla! She's a sweet, confident kitty who loves attention and prefers to be the only animal in the home. Trilla is a gorgeous gray and white girl about 6 years old. She loves treats, knows her name and will be the most dog-like cat you've ever known. Trilla used to live with other cats, but she got Feline Non-Recognition Aggression when one of the cats in the family went to the vet and came back smelling different. Google it and you will see that it is a real thing! So, Trilla just isn't ready for other cat or dog friends, but who cares if you are a one cat person anyway. She's ready to be your one-and-only companion and fill your days with love and antics.

If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, are treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention and dewormed #adoptdontshop

Go meet their pets

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.

You can select an appointment time using this link: https://koalendar.com/e/meet-and-greet-appointment.
