Pepper is a tiny pup with a big personality and just the right amount of sass. He may be the smallest of his litter, but don’t let that fool you — this confident little guy is curious, brave, and always ready to join the fun.
Pepper was born missing one of his back paws, and he already shows just how adaptable puppies can be. He runs, plays, and wrestles with other dogs without hesitation and doesn’t let this slow him down one bit. As he grows, a simple, planned amputation around 6 months of age is recommended to support his long-term comfort and mobility. Castoff Pet Rescue will help cover the cost of amputation.
Puppies with this condition typically adjust incredibly well, and Pepper is expected to thrive as a happy, active tripod dog.
This sweet boy loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and brings energy and laughter wherever he goes. His sleek black coat, adorable black speckling on his gray chest and paws, and expressive eyes give him a look that’s impossible to forget.
What Pepper lacks in size, he more than makes up for in heart, resilience, and charm. He’s the kind of puppy who reminds you that being different can be pretty special. Pepper is the last of his litter needing a home and he looking for an adopter who is open-minded, committed, and excited to support him as he grows into the amazing dog he’s already proving he can be.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
